The San Diego Saints
Youth Hockey program is dedicated to providing the
opportunity to play the sport of hockey to boys and girls of all ages
and backgrounds. The program is in its 7th year in existence and is
continuing to grow and introduce the sport throughout the San Diego
region. The Saints hockey program is the only club in San Diego to
carry both boys and girls club teams.
The
program provides opportunities for players at the recreational and
advanced travel levels. Part of the Saints' mission is to provide kids
from low income families the opportunity to play. Year round
fundraising efforts help provide financial aide to qualifying
households. These players have the opportunity to be a part of a hockey
team and learn the values of team work, discipline and sportsmanship.
The
Saints program also realizes that there are many opportunities for
players in the sport of hockey. The Saints travel program provides
opportunities for players to
play at an elite level to develop and move on to higher levels of
hockey. Several players have graduated from our program and
have advanced to play Junior and or college hockey.
A portion of the proceeds will also benefit Outdoor Outreach,
a non-profit organization in San Diego providing youth with a chance to
experience the great outdoors. The program empowers at-risk and
underpriviledged youth to make positive and life changes in their lives
through comprehensive outdoor programming.
